Although I’m not going to do my usual top ten format, I’m still going to list this post as a Top Ten Tuesday post and link it up to the Broke and the Bookish that created this meme!! This is technically the “Giving Thanks Book Tag” which I first saw Bekka do at Pretty Deadly Reviews.
This was an amazing reading experience. From the excellently packaged book (both the dust jacket and hard cover were gorgeous) to the lovely illustrations, to the stories. The Language of Thorns will suck you into the magical Grisha world even deeper.
Here are some books that were totally unexpected favorites. For some, I just took a chance on an unknown book and was blown away. For others, they were unexpected because the other books the author had written were not for me. All of these are five-star ratings in my book.
This week’s TTT topic made me very happy! One of the things I love about bookstores and libraries are checking out what the newest selections are and picturing what I would read to my future child. It makes me so happy to see the cute and empowering books that I could read to a little girl or boy. I hope you like my selections!
For some reason, I used to never be crazy about BookTube. I understood it to be a site for music videos and Khan Academy. However, this has recently changed. I have discovered some amazing people on YouTube that are so entertaining to watch and I want to share that with you!
Maggie Stiefvater is my favorite author so this was a really, really great read for me. It was ramble-worthy goodness. It was different from Maggie’s last project, The Raven Cycle, because it was much more hopeful and much more magical. I would describe this book as quietly rosy.
October was a great month! I got into the fall/Halloween spirit more than I ever have before which was great.
