So this post came from a Monday that I did not feel creative at all. I had no idea what to write for the blog so I thought I would recommend the random things that I like and now, here it is, handed to you in the form of my lovely blog.
One of my favorite things to do is watch funny and lighthearted animated television shows and then go and read a bloody book so here are the funny shows I like to watch and the bloody books I like to read.
A Madness So Discreet + The Amazing World of Gumball
A Madness So Discreet is about a girl who has a terrible father. He sends her to a madhouse where she is mistreated and violated. However, this girl pulls herself out of the situation with intelligence and rage.
The Amazing World of Gumball is mainly about Gumball Watterson and his brother named Darwin who is a fish with legs. They have a family, a dad and sister who are rabbits and a mom who is a cat. They go to school where every character is a different thing, one could be a banana, one could be a cloud, and one could be a moose. The shenanigans they get into are so funny.
Final Girls + Family Guy
Final Girls is about a group of women the media has named “Final Girls” because they are the only ones that survive terrible massacres. The main character, Quincey, is understandably dealing with some stuff because she is a Final Girl when one of the other final girls dies suddenly.
Family Guy is about Peter Griffin and his family. I like how in each episode everything basically gets ruined and then things are back to normal in the next show. It’s funny how the show makes fun of everything and everyone but also pokes fun at itself.
Geek Love + Bob’s Burgers
I haven’t read Geek Love but it sounds gruesome. It’s about a family called the Binewskis. They take amphetamine, arsenic, and radioisotopes and try to create their own family of carnival ‘oddities.” Purposefully mutating a body for the purpose of creating an abnormality sounds terrifying.
Bob’s Burger’s is about the Belcher’s, a family that owns a small burger restaurant by the sea. They’re all quirky and weird. Linda is a vivacious mom that likes to sing, Tina, the oldest daughter, is infatuated with the boy’s butts, Gene has a keyboard that he records sounds on to make songs (most of the sounds are fart noises), Louis wants to destroy the world, and Bob is a stressed out burger chef.
You Should Have Left + We Bare Bears
You Should Have Left is a novel about a writer and his family as they spend a week up in a rented house in Germany. The synopsis begins by saying it is a “supernatural tale of a writer’s emotional collapse.”
We Bare Bears is about three bears that try to live among humans in San Francisco. Their names are Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear. I think part of the humor is watching these cute little things on screen.
That’s it! I hope you enjoyed this random post. What are your favorite animated shows/ suspense books? What are your favorite moments from these shows?
Thanks for reading!
