Top Ten Unique Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

For my books I chose some titles that were strange because of the stories. They might have gained an extra significance after the story ended. Then I chose some that I haven’t read because I ran out of strange titles that I have read. I also got tired of writing descriptions.

A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers

This might not seem like a very unique title right away but I liked it because it was one of those books that came full circle and the title were the last words in the book. Also, it happened to be EXCELLENT.

A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

There are a lot of books about madness but I felt that this one was extra significant because it dealt with the fact that in history women were thrown in asylums because they weren’t obedient.

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

Anyone who has read this book knows what a heart-wrencher it is. I can’t say much about why the title is significant but if you read it, it will definitely be more significant to you once it is finished.

Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley

I don’t remember this one too well but there are so many interesting characters that all come together and make sense in a way that’s very clever.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore

The Half-Drowned King by Linnea Hartsuyker

Goodbye, Vitamin by Rachel Khong

Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

Let’s chat! I really liked this Top Ten topic, mostly because weird books and titles are my favorite. What are some of your weird books that you like?

Hi! I'm Leah. I like books, TV, and plants. I love writing about it all. Earnest Hemmingway said "Write hard and clear about what hurts," and I aspire to do just that. Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Leah! I love your list. I am currently reading The Long way to a small angry planet and I don’t think I used it in my list. It’s perfect. The funny thing is everytime someone asks me what I am reading I blurt out some strange variation of it!! It started slow and around page 100 picked up and now it’s really pretty good. I shamefully own Code Name Verity and never read it. People really like it so I am hoping I will too. I think she has written several more books since that came out. (I’m always late to the book reading!!) Come play at my blog when you find time:

  2. Oooh good picks! I cannot believe I forgot A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, that is SUCH a good one! I had A Madness So Discreet and Strange the Dreamer on my “honorable mention” list but then I got lazy and didn’t want to find the covers so… yeah hahah. And Goodbye Vitamin has me quite intrigued! Love your choices 🙂
